Why employment verifications slow down hiring

Federal regulations require carriers to verify a new driver's safety performance history with each DOT-regulated employer from the past three years, or at least perform three good faith attempts, within 30 days of the driver's start date. At many carriers, recruiting or safety teams still do this by hand, with phone calls, voicemails, and emails. That takes hours each week, delays the hiring process and can lead to lost candidates.

How Vera works

Tailored to each carrier’s process, Vera kicks off automatically and:

• Finds the right go-to person or platform at each previous employer. If there’s no info on file, Vera calls to get one, then sends the request and saves the contact for next time.

• Follows up by phone and email on a consistent schedule until the verification comes back.

• Keeps a full audit trail, with every attempt logged and every call recorded and transcribed.

In early beta with Double Nickel customers, Vera completed an average of 40% of employment verifications autonomously, and completed them four times faster than manual verifications.
